TVS-Diodes are used to provide protection against transient voltage surges in electronic devices. The MXP5KE40CA is a monolithic silicon avalanche diode (MADS) designed to protect high speed data line components from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other line transients. It is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the IEC-61000-4-2 (level 4) ESD-Surge specification. It is an ideal choice for protecting sensitive equipment and ensuring that data and signals remain intact.

The MXP5KE40CA features an ESD clamping voltage of 40V, with a breakdown voltage of 5.6V, providing robust protection against a wide range of over-voltage transients.The MADS is configured with an avalanche clamping action matching that of a conventional metal oxide varistor (MOV). This avalanche action, combined with the very fast response time, provides superior protection with minimal voltage drop and low clamp current.

The MXP5KE40CA features a low profile package that occupies minimal board space. This is ideal for high density applications where minimal board space is critical. Additionally, the package is RoHS compliant making it an environmentally friendly choice for isolating sensitive components from ESD and transients.
