The MXP5KE6.5A is a 600W unidirectional low capacitance transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for secondary protection of electronic equipment against transients in over-voltage conditions. This device meets the requirements of IEC 61000-4-2 international surge immunity standard. This article describes the application field and working principle of the MXP5KE6.5A.

The 600W MXP5KE6.5A TVS diode provides a low-voltage clamping to help protect sensitive data and system components from electrical overstress damage resulting from transients. The device\'s active clamping action provides optimal protection from transient over-voltage conditions that often cause permanent damage to ICs, FPGAs, processors, MOSFETs and other sensitive components. In over-voltage conditions, the device operates at a very high speed to divert the transient current away from the protected system.

The MXP5KE6.5A is suitable for damping or damping surge suppression of voltage generated by static electricity.
