TVS-Diodes (Transient Voltage Suppression Diodes), otherwise known as Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS), are a type of semiconductor device typically deployed in electrical or electronics systems to protect circuits from high-energy transients, such as lightning strikes, power surges, or electrostatic discharges.
