The NB2305AI1D clock generator is an advanced and cost-effective timing solution for digital systems. It is built with a high-performance timing integrated circuit (TIC) and offers a complete flexible timing solution with low power consumption, low jitter, and high reliability. The NB2305AI1D solution can be used for a wide variety of applications such as, industrial, automotive, consumer, datacom, and communications.

The NB2305AI1D is a highly versatile timing solution designed to generate system clock and reference clock signals using on-chip PLLs with broad frequency range from 10MHz to 160MHz. It is available in two operating modes, namely, Synchronous and Asynchronous modes. Synchronous mode offers frequency locking capability while in the asynchronous mode, the clock and output frequency can be adjusted independently.

Working Principle: The NB2305AI1D clock generator works according to the principles of phase-locked loop (PLL) with a reference clock. A reference clock signal is generated from an on-chip oscillator, which is multiplied or divided to generate the desired output frequencies for the system clock and reference clocks based on the user input parameters. The NB2305AI1D uses an on-chip PLL to generate output clock and reference clock signals with low jitter, low power consumption, and high reliability.

The clock generator includes a phase-frequency detector (PFD), charge pump (CP), loop filter (LF), voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), and divide-by-N counter. The PFD essentially compares the output frequency to the reference frequency and produces a control signal that is proportional to the difference between the frequencies. The CP amplifies the control signal and charges or discharges the loop filter. The loop filter is a low-pass filter that smooths out the signal from the CP. The signal is then sent to the VCO, which is essentially an oscillator that is controlled by a voltage, and produces an output signal. This signal is then sent to the N counter which divides the output signal frequency by a number that is determined by the user input.
