NB4L858MFAG is a Logic - Signal Switches, Multiplexers, Decoders device. It is a 3-state level shifter, translater, represented by a 8-bit, D type flip-flop integrated circuit for use in 1.65V to 3.6V VCC applications. This device is manufactured by ON Semiconductor and released on 19th December 2019.

NB4L858MFAG provide one digital signal input, four digital outputs in the order of A to D, and have a data enable (EN) pin. The digital input (A) is represent in a serialized format which is latched into the flip-flop output upon the rising edge of the EN pin. Data is then transferred onto the four output pins.

The NB4L858MFAG can be applied in a range of circuit designs such as Buffers/Drivers, Latches, Memory and Logic/Signal Switches. It is an adusted device for its serialized input, reducing the internal circuit complexity for port expansion.

Working principle

The working principle of the NB4L858MFAG involves transmission of data for a serialized input. The serialized signal to pin A is read and latched in to the internal flip-flop upon a rising edge provided by the EN pin. Transferred data is then sent to the output pins (A - D), which are active at logic HIGH.

The sinking and sourcing capability of the four output pins can be determined by the voltage level of the control pin (VCC). If the VCC pin is at a logic HIGH, the output pins are sinking; if the VCC is at a logic LOW, the output pins are sourcing.

The NB4L858MFAG has a maximum delay time of 3ns and a pulse width of 10ns between the rising of EN and the stable output. A three-state output is enabled on the four output pins, allowing other circuits to be connected when they are not being used.
