The NB4N507ADR2 is an ultra-low power, single-ended sub-band clock generator ideal for ultrathin form factors such as smart chargers and universal serial bus (USB) Type-C applications. The NB4N507ADR2 is a high performance, precision clock source providing up to four clock outputs. It is designed for ultra low power consumption, a wide range of operation, and a wide range of features such as programmable jitter and skew.The NB4N507ADR2 is a cost effective solution providing a variety of applications with a wide range of frequency accuracy, jitter, and stability. It is highly accurate, providing excellent performance and stability over a wide temperature range. The NB4N507ADR2 clock generator supports up to four independent differential or single ended clock outputs that can be programmed over a wide frequency range of 0.25MHz to 250MHz.The NB4N507ADR2 has an embedded oscillator and clock recovery circuit that is capable of generating a clean clock output with minimal jitter, skew and noise. The oscillator has a nominal frequency of 25MHz but can be programmed to generate a wide range of frequencies from 0.25MHz to 250MHz by means of a simple register interface.The NB4N507ADR2 can be programmed to output a variety of frequencies with certain accuracy and jitter. It provides a range of predefined precision clock settings for each frequency. It also provides a programmable gain compensation which allows users to adjust the output frequency accuracy and jitter characteristics. The NB4N507ADR2 is also capable of generating multiple clock outputs with a shared frequency source and clock settings.The NB4N507ADR2 works by generation of a reference clock output. This reference clock is used as the basis of the clock recovery circuit. It is also used to sample the input signal. The sampling of the clock allows the clock generator to accurately measure the period and phase of the input signal. The measured signal is then compared to the reference signal by the clock recovery circuit. The comparison is then used to regulate the overall frequency of the clock generator. The output of the clock generator is then locked to the input signal and regulated through a feedback loop.The NB4N507ADR2 can also be used in wireless applications, such as WiFi and Bluetooth.
