Working Principle of NCL30080BSNT1G
NCL30080BSNT1G is based on a constant on-time (COT) control technique, which works by turning on the power switches at a fixed and similar on-time in each switching cycle, thus providing excellent line regulation, load regulation, and low input/output ripple. NCL30080BSNT1G is designed to drive 8 strings of LEDs, and the output voltage is adjustable by the external resistor. The device is designed with safety features and constant-current outputs, which allows the device to remain in steady state and maintain constant LED current in the event of open diode, short diode, or large peak-to-valley LED current variation. The device is capable of shutting down the whole LED string during open, short LED circuit, or higher than 10% current variation.
The integrated fault detection circuit on NCL30080BSNT1G can provide precise system "On/OFF" control through the input EN pin. In case of system fault, the fault status will be updated to the EN pin. NCL30080BSNT1G also features a Clock Frequency Adjustment circuit along with its unique Dead-Time Adjustment Control circuit. This allows the user to adjust the switching frequency and set the dead-time for each cycle of the current phase. This feature achieves efficiency optimization based on LED operating parameters.
