The NCL30088LED1GEVB evaluation board is designed to enable quick and easy evaluation of Texas Instrument\'s NCL30088 LED driver IC. In addition to being able to drive up to 10 LED strings, the NCL30088 LED driver features a 0.5% safe operating area (SOA) window that protects the LED strings over a wide range of supply/load conditions to ensure the LEDs\' reliability. The SOA window works with the open-LED-indicator to keep the driven LED strings within the desired current levels, even in conditions with dynamically changing voltage or current. The output current can also be adjusted via the current set resistor on the board, enabling users to fine-tune the LEDs\' current levels.

The NCL30088 LED driver\'s PWM DC dimming feature also provides dimming from 0 - 100% with low ripple, allowing LED strings to be adjusted in line with the user\'s requirements. The board also includes various other features such as de-clipping of peak current, to safely clamp and protect the connected LEDs, and fault monitoring for over-temperature and over-voltage conditions.
