The NCP1203P60G is a high-performance Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) controller designed for off-line flyback converters. Working Principle

The NCP1203P60G is a PWM controller consisting of a control circuit, a MOSFET driver, and a protection circuit. The PWM control circuit produces a variable duty cycle based on the input voltage and current. The MOSFET driver circuit amplifies the PWM signals from the control circuit and drives a high-voltage MOSFET switch to control the output power. The protection circuit protects the device from over-voltage, over-temperature, and under-voltage lockout conditions.

The operation of the NCP1203P60G can be divided into two parts: operation under no-load conditions and operation during normal operation. Under no-load conditions, the device is in the "sleep" mode; in this light-load condition, the device draws very low quiescent current (typically 450 µA).
