The NCP3125AGEVB is a high-performance multi-output evaluation board based on the highly integrated NCP3125A off-line switching controller. The evaluation board is designed to enable designers to evaluate and optimize a wide range of cost-effective, isolated and non-isolated DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies.
The NCP3125AGEVB is designed to offer designers the highest level of flexibility while taking full advantage of the NCP3125A’s capabilities. The NCP3125AGEVB allows designers to explore numerous topologies and application options while providing advanced features such as fault protection, programmability and scalability. The evaluation board is ideal for DC/DC and AC/DC applications requiring high-side switch, low-side switch and both boost and buck topologies.
The evaluation board features an NCP3125A controller, a power MOSFET switch, an opto-coupler for feedback, and support for up to four secondary synchronous rectification channels (single or dual low-side). The board also includes a full suite of protection features, including an over temperature shut-down, as well as a fault status flag.
The NCP3125AGEVB features an input voltage operating range of 4.5V to 500V and can handle power levels up to 25W. The board includes robust power component packages, allowing designers to easily prototype and test before committing to a final design. The evaluation board can be configured for single-ended, Push-Pull, Totem-Pole, and Flyback topologies.
The evaluation board allows designers to explore the solution cost-effectively, from wide input voltages, dual channels, and latest circuit topologies to high-performance operating parameters. In addition to the various configurations, the on-board EEPROM allows parameters of the NCP3125A to be programmed. This functionality allows the board to be easily repurposed for a variety of applications.
The evaluation board allows integrated diode emulation and is compatible with gate drive current sense. The board utilizes a temperature-compensated current sense algorithm to provide higher accuracy for fast-tracking pulses. This combined with factory-programmed EEPROM settings and peak current-limit accuracy, provides designers with superior dynamic system performance.
