The NCP3712ASNT3 is a mixed technology bi-directional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) aimed to protect electronic components from over voltages in automotive, telecom and industrial environments. It provides protection against bi-directional transients on automotive load dump, CDM, ESD on IEC and Human Body Model, and EFT (Electrical Fast Transient) per IEC according to a wide working temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and a wide operating voltage range of 2V- 40V. The chip also has excellent stability and low leakage current that\'s below 2mA.

The NCP3712ASNT3 TVS is designed to perform as a clamping component and thus blocks the high transients induced by any abnormal voltage conditions. It reduces these transient voltages below a specific threshold, usually 3.3V or 5V. The chip is designed to have a low capacitance between its two terminals and thus offers excellent transient performance without affecting the waveforms of the signal.

The NCP3712ASNT3 is composed of several integrated components. At its core, the chip employs a silicon avalanche diode for the majority of its protection.
