The NCP694DSAN33T1G integrates an adjustable linear regulator, reverse current clamp, load current monitor and load disconnect switch with an internal voltage reference and control circuitry, providing a total system protection solution for automotive applications. The low-dropout voltage regulator provides up to ±0.2V regulation accuracy over temperature and line variations and is capable of driving up to 250mA from a input voltage of up to 40V. The built-in reverse clamp allows the device to easily reduce peak current and dV/dt and is ideal for battery reverse clamp monitoring. Meanwhile, the internal load current and voltage monitor feature allows for over current protection, low-battery protection and load disconnection.

The reference voltage, output voltage and current limits are programmable through the I2C interface. If the current limit is set to 6mA or greater, the device will automatically turn off the output and trigger the watchdog timer circuit when the current limit is exceeded. Furthermore, the device has a programmable low battery warning output to indicate battery failure.
