The ST NCP715SQT2GEVB Voltage Regulator is a high-efficiency, low noise linear voltage regulator that is able to source up to 500 mA of current—suitable for entry level projects or to demonstrate what is accomplished with a linear voltage regulator in a working system. The core of the NCP715SQT2GEVB has its foundation in ST’s Soft-Start (SS) and Load Transient (LT) technologies, and is tailored for industrial motor drives, material handling, medical systems, and smart phone charging docks.
The function of the NCP715SQT2GEVB is to regulate the output voltage over the input range of 3V to 18V, thus allowing for a robust design to a variety of industrial and consumer applications. With an output voltage that is set by a combination of R1 and an optional resistor divider, the NCP715 yields very low output voltage ripple and good line/load regulation.
