The linear voltage regulator also works with a thermal compensation mechanism. The voltage regulator has an integrated circuit thermal diode, which helps to prevent damage and ensures the device remains at optimal working temperature under extreme conditions. The thermistor monitors the temperature of the device and changes the output voltage accordingly, to prevent it from getting too hot.
