The NCV7707 is designed upon an advanced digital control loop architecture, which regulates one or two output channels. It combines multiple digital and analog control blocks, to allow for precise, flexible, and reliable power distribution and monitoring.The core of the NCV7707 is a digital control loop that is comprised of 3 main components. The first is a digital phase-locking loop (PLL), which synchronizes the internal clock frequency to an external clock, allowing the device to maintain precise control over the output voltage. The second component is a comparator, which uses feedback from a current-sense resistor to detect any differences between the actual output voltage and the desired voltage. The third component is a pulse-width modulation (PWM) generator, which outputs a PWM signal based on the comparison of the actual output voltage and the desired voltage.The PWM signal generated by the control loop is then used to adjust the on-time of two power MOSFET switches.
