AC DC Converters
NMP1K2-EEK#E#-01 is an “Infront-End AC-DC converter”, created by NXP Semiconductors, which is used in a wide range of applications, such as simple AC/DC fixed frequency isolated converters, LED lighting, and industrial control systems and general power management applications which can provide continuous power at up to 2.25kW.
The NMP1K2-EEK#E#-01 converter efficiently transforms AC input signals of any frequency into regulated DC output signal. It\'s response time is fast enough and short circuit, over voltage and over load protection makes it even more ideal for a wide range of applications. It integrates flyback topology and voltage feed-forward (VFF) lossless current detection, to finely control and optimize PFC and PWM performance, and also include current limiting, to achieve a safe and stable output current.
Working Principle
The working principle of NMP1K2-EEK#E#-01 is relatively simple and it is based on the basic operation of a transformer. The AC input is converted into a DC signal by a rectifier. This rectified voltage is then fed to the filter capacitor which is used to smooth out any ripple. The output of the filter capacitor is given to the rectifier which then converts it to variable DC voltage.
The rectified voltage is then fed to the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) circuitry, which uses the AC signal to adjusts the duty cycle and generate the required output voltage. The output of the PWM circuitry is then fed to the transformer, which increases the voltage as required and finally feeds it to the output filter capacitor ensuring a constant, regulated output voltage.
