N30295A-EVB-0 evaluation board based on NCP30295A is designed to evaluate the off−line secondary synchronous rectification buck converter with QR technology mainly for low power applications. NCP30295A belongs to a new family of NCP30295, which adopts the primary side regulation concept for the off-line switching adapter to realize both cost-saving and high efficiency. With this evaluation board, customers can quickly evaluate and optimize the system performance.

Application Field of N30295A-EVB-0:

The N30295A-EVB-0 evaluation board has an wide range of application fields, such as notebook adapters, LED lighting, power adapters, monitor adapters, LCD TV adapters, DVD adapters etc. because NCP30295A has been designed to be a low cost, small size, high efficiency off-line switching solution.

Working Principle of N30295A-EVB-0:

N30295A-EVB-0 is a buck converter with secondary synchronous rectification. It adopts QR technology to achieve high efficiency and wide output voltage ranges from 0.8V-5V. The boost rectified voltage is sampled to control the primary switching frequency and thus the output current and voltage.

The non-isolated buck converter is mainly composed of the following parts: rectifier, primary inductor, main switches, MOSFETs, Schottky diode, secondary diode,sampling resistor and voltage feedback resistor. The rectifier voltage is rectified by the high frequency switching and non-dissipative detect circuit to control the output voltage.

The voltage feedback resistor will feedback the output voltage to the error amplifier, and then drive the main switch control circuit. The main switch control circuit controls the discharging and charging of primary inductor. The secondary side rectifier will synchronously rectify DC output. The sampling resistor monitors and optimize the MOSFET conduction curve by sending a signal to the primary driver’s pin. And it can also adjust the output current.
