It is well known that the thyristor – SCRs are widely used in semiconductor devices that facilitate switching. This is due to their ability to act as either a charge amplifier or as a switch. The field effect transistor (FET) technology is another popular choice for switching devices. Both technologies are widely accepted and used in the industry and are suitable for different applications.
