NSD914F3T5G is one of the most commonly used single rectifier diodes in the field with a maximum average forward current of 1A. It is primarily used as rectifier and switching control. Since its construction is a diode consisting of a PN junction and also contains a cathode and an anode region, it carries out conduction of electric current in one direction only. This characteristic makes it suitable for applications such as in power supply and rectification of AC to DC, switching physical loads between logic power supply, DC-DC converters, voltage protection and polarity protection etc.
It has a peak reverse voltage of 900V and a maximum forward voltage of 1.15V. Its maximum do-35 glass case has a case temperature range from is from -55°C to +150°C.
NSD914F3T5G works on the principle of a rectifier diode i.e. it allows the current to flow in only one direction while restricts the current flow in the reverse direction. This is possible due to the different conductance characteristics of anode and cathode region when the applied voltage is reverse biased and forward biased. When it is reverse biased, both anode and cathode get open and there is no current flow. Similarly, when it is forward biased, the p-type gets open, thereby allowing the electric current to travel from the anode to the cathode.
Typically, single rectifier diodes which includes NSD914F3T5G are used anywhere where AC current needs to be rectified or when there is need for controlling the current flow, for example, for switching control.
