Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are used for system evaluation and design demonstrations. OM15053Z is a highly integrated system demonstrate board and evaluation kit based on the NXP i.MX 6UltraLite series ARM Cortex-A7 applications processor. It provides world class development and debugging capabilities. Parts of the evaluation board is illustrated below in Figure 1.

The OM15053Z evaluation board is powered by the NXP i.MX 6Ul series processor, which is based on the ARM Cortex-A7 core. It is a high performance processor and is ideal for a wide range of applications including multimedia, consumer, industrial and automotive. This processor has an integrated Power Management Unit (PMU) that provides low power operation, a wide operating temperature range and robust customer-focused applications like automotive safety and security.

Aside from the processor, the OM15053Z evaluation board features other components, such as networking and storage sheets, a 3.5" resistive touchscreen LCD, an audio codec, an accelerometer, 4 LED indicator lights, 2 buttons, an Ethernet port, an SD card slot and a programmer/debugger port. It also has a serial interface connector, a CAN bus port, security scan switches, an LVDS output port to interface with a wide range of embedded displays, an optional WiFi/Bluetooth module and a 19V Dual DC power port or a battery pack port.

Although the OM15053Z evaluation board uses the NXP i.MX 6Ul series processor, it can also support other processors, such as the ARM Cortex-A5 family, as long as the appropriate software is provided. It also supports various external devices, such as a wide range of embedded displays, as well as the industry standard Android and Linux operating systems.
