OP177FPZ is an integrated circuit used as an instrumentation amplifier. It is a monolithic unity gain stable device designed with Vhb=-5V power supply and Vlb=-18V power supply. This can be used for medium output voltage swings and for typical applications such as low-frequency voltage measurements and bridge amplifiers.The OP177FPZ contains four transistors, two of which are unity gain buffers with open-collector outputs. The other two transistors have input differential amplifiers with output follower stages that provide adjustable gain and high input-output isolation. The differential input stage of the OP177FPZ is designed to reject noise and other common-mode signals, and it is thus ideal for use in instrumentation applications. The open-collector output stage of the OP177FPZ provides active current sinking to ground or other reference potentials, thereby allowing it to work with analog-to-digital converters.The input impedance of the OP177FPZ is very low, which will enable it to work with low source impedances. In addition, the narrow range of the device\'s power supply voltage makes it suitable for applications with limited supply voltage.The operation of the OP177FPZ is quite straightforward. It is designed to allow a differential input voltage to be amplified with the addition of a gain setting resistor, which is adjustable between 10 and 20V/V (8 and 16V/V with resistors of 0.2 ohms or less). The gain setting resistor is then connected to one of the three adjustable potentiometers on the OP177FPZ. To set the gain in the active region, the gain setting resistor is connected to the first potentiometer. To set the gain in the move and hold regions, the gain setting resistor is connected to the second and the third potentiometers, respectively. The output of the OP177FPZ can be configured as either an open-collector or a transformer-coupled output. The transformer-coupled output allows the current from the amplifier to be amplified and output as a voltage.The OP177FPZ is relatively small and easy to use, making it suitable for applications in instrumentation, as well as in many other fields.
