The OPA2725AIDG4 is a precision, single-supply, low-power, low-noise, chopper-stabilized, high input impedance, Rail-to-Rail input and output rail-to-rail output instrumentation amplifier. It delivers the highest in dc accuracy without compromising on ac performance.This amplifier is ideal for use in any sensor signal-conditioning application requiring high input impedance and low output noise. It also offers a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C.This device exhibits a low noise floor, wide bandwidth, high common-mode rejection and input voltage range, and low offset voltage, drift and supply current. These features make the OPA2725AIDG4 ideal for low noise applications requiring high dynamic range, such as strain gauges and bridge measurements, as well as medical diagnostic instruments.

Working Principle

The OPA2725AIDG4 operates on the principle of differential gain and phase. Two matched transistors are used to process input signals as differential amplifiers, thus converting differential voltage to single-ended output voltage (gain) and producing an output signal in phase with the input signal.The OPA2725AIDG4 features excellent common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR), and its high CMRR eliminates the need for additional shielded cables, which are often needed with single-ended amplifiers. Additionally, the OPA2725AIDG4 widely ranges the gain from 0.1 V/V (Unit Gain) to 120 V/V (Gain). The precise gain control is achieved using a single external resistor.Further, a fast settling, low-offset chopper amplifier was designed to provide excellent linearity and 82 dB of DC accuracy, without compromising on AC performance. The maximum off-state offset of 5 nV/V makes the OPA2725AIDG4 ideal for low-noise and low-drift applications. The offset and the drift are trimmed at the initial load stage and specified in ppm/°C.High-performance calibration techniques, including trimming of the amplifier’s input offset voltage, ensure accurate and stable performance. The OPA2725AIDG4 provides both rail-to-rail input and output and wide input common-mode range – both of which are essential features for low-conduction sensor and wide-range input signals.

The OPA2725AIDG4 is also highly immune to supply noise and can deliver excellent power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 74 dB. This helps reduce the noise in the sensor signals and provides a cleaner output.

The OPA2725AIDG4 is designed to operate with single supplies that range from 2.7V to 5.5V, and its optimized and high-performance design results in low power consumption and high accuracy. Although intended primarily for use in sensor signal conditioning and instrumentation applications, the OPA2725AIDG4 is also suitable for many low-noise, low-drift focus applications.
