The OPB610 is an optically coupled transistor-output slot-type photointerrupter, embedded in a compact, integrated package. It is ideal for use in general industrial and consumer electronic equipment, including surface-mounted designs. The device utilizes an optically detected slot photodetector integrated circuit (PDIC) to detect black, opaque and other objects passing through the slot. It operates on a wide range of supply voltages from 4.5 to 24 volts, and offers both high speed and high sensitivity settings.

The OPB610 photointerrupter offers several unique features that make it ideal for a variety of applications. It features a wide response range from 0.2 to 20 milliwatts, high speed up to 2000 rpm, and improved noise immunity due to its improved surge voltage and transient noises. The device also has a very low power consumption of no more than 0.5 watts and features a long life of more than 100,000 operations.
