P1100ECRP1

TVS (Thyristors) are semiconductor devices designed to rapidly protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients caused by ESD (Electro Static Discharge), surges, and other forms of over-voltage conditions. The P1100ECRP1 is a TVS diode module designed to provide a multi-stage ESD protection solution with an exceptionally low leakage current and low capacitance. Application Field

The P1100ECRP1 is designed for multiple applications including PCs, laptop and tablet computers, cellular phones, set-top boxes and other digital consumer devices. This module also provides multi-stage ESD protection for automotive devices such as automotive infotainment systems, GPS devices, car stereos, and dashcams.

This module is also ideal for use in industrial and medical applications such as industrial equipment controls, medical devices, and healthcare systems.

Working Principle

The P1100ECRP1 employs a high-speed sampling technique to detect and suppress ESD transients. This process begins with a low-capacitance diode that samples the transient signal and then triggers a protection element that clamps the incoming voltage to a controlled and safe level.

This proper protection element consists of two components, an ultra-low leakage diode and a P-channel MOSFET switch that maintains a very low leakage current compared to traditional ESD protection components. In addition, the module utilizes a low capacitance diode array to protect against reverse polarity voltages, while still providing a low capacitance solution for high-speed communications.

The P1100ECRP1 module also incorporates a novel design that enables an ultra-low capacitance of up to 0.5pF which can reduce crosstalk in high-speed transmission lines. This feature enables the P1100ECRP1 to achieve excellent ESD levels up to 25kV and a safe standoff voltage of up to 14.3V.
