Working Principle of P3406UBRP Thyristor

When the P3406UBRP Thyristor detects a voltage or current surge, it will trigger a bidirectional breakdown voltage which is high enough to block and suppress arcs. The Working Principle of the device is based upon the principle of inverse biased Avalanche breakdown, where when the device meets the voltage and current conditions exceeds the device\'s rated operating range, it trips the device into an inverse biased condition and causes a sharp rise in the voltage across the device. This sudden increase in voltage is sufficient to break through the reverse bias of the thyristor and cause an instant current flow.
