Thyristors, specifically TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) devices, are solid-state switching devices that are used in a variety of applications to protect circuitry from overvoltage pulses. P3602ACMCL is a N-V-F 5 W surface mount unidirectional TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic components from voltage transients generated by load switching, induced lightning and other sources of power disturbances. The P3602ACMCL device consists of silicon monolithically integrated with a glass passivated junction. The unique design of the device ensures low capacitance levels and high clamping voltages, providing excellent protection to goods against EFT spikes, lightning transients, and load switch transients.

The P3602ACMCL working principle is based on a thyristor, which is a semiconductor device that is composed of three or more p-n junctions connected together in series. The junctions are configured as a switch that can be triggered by applying a voltage across the input into the gate of the thyristor. When this gate voltage is reached, thyristor will start to conduct and amplify current from the anode to the cathode side.
