The P4SMA130C is a T-Level Uni-Directional Transient Voltage Suppression Diode designed to protect sensitive electronic components from overvoltages. This single line TVS-Diode is offered in an ultra-small molded SOT-323 package. The P4SMA130C features a low reverse leakage current of 2uA typ. The TVS-Diode is designed to meet ESD protection according to IEC61000-4-2 (15kV contact/8kVair discharge).
The P4SMA130C is designed to be a robust solution against lightning induced transients and electrostatic discharge (ESD). It is a bidirectional T-level diode with a low capacitance that can handle peak surge currents of 43A (8/20μs). The pedestal lead diode is designed to meet the requirements for UL 783 and IEC61000-4-2 (17kV contact/15kA air) for enhanced ESD and lightning protection. The device is also designed to meet the maximum peak voltage ratings according to UL 1449.
The P4SMA130C not only provides excellent ESD protection but also offers excellent reliability and high thermal stability. It has an increased peak pulse-current capability, and is extremely robust and highly reliable.
The working principle of the P4SMA130C is based on the avalanche breakdown of the diode junction. When a voltage greater than the breakdown voltage is applied to the diode, the junction enters avalanche breakdown. This causes a current flow in the reverse direction of the diode, equal to a certain percentage of the forward current, depending on the diode\'s design. The breakdown voltage of the P4SMA130C is 13V.
The P4SMA130C is suitable for a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial, telecommunications and consumer electronics devices, as well as off-line and line-powered applications. It can also be used for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, over-current protection and over-voltage protection, among other uses.
