Optoisolators are specialty devices that feature an electrical light source such as an LED, a photo detector, and a suitable passive electrical component such as a resistor. The optoisolator isolates an input electrical signal from the output and by using a light-based signal it prevents any interaction between the two electrically-driven signals.

The PC3H711NIP1B is a transistor, photovoltaic output optoisolator, making it ideal for a number of different applications, such as in regulated power supplies, circuit protection applications, full-wave or half-wave rectification, LED lighting and other motor control applications.
