PC824A is a low voltage, photovoltaic output, optoisolator. It is a very useful device which can be used to safely isolate two circuits from one another. PC824A contains a photovoltaic cell which is sensitive to light. This photovoltaic cell is designed to be sensitive to light sources in the visible spectrum, from infrared to ultraviolet.
