Aluminum - Polymer capacitors are a type of capacitor which are a combination of a nonconventional polymer foil material and aluminum foil. In general, a typical aluminum-polymer capacitor consists of hundreds of non-coaxial, flat electrodes, which are placed in parallel between two metal foils. The two metal foils, which are made of aluminum, are then coated with a solution containing the polymer materials. Together, the metal foil and polymer solution form an insulation layer, which prevents current from passing through the capacitor.
