Magnetic sensors, essentially, are specialized electronic sensors used for the detection of changes in magnetic fields. Magnetic sensors are used to create a variety of feedback systems in consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial applications. There are various types of magnetic sensors such as hall effect, near-field, ultra-low field, and anisotropic magneto-resistive (AMR). The switch is a non-powered, non-latching unit, comprising of a high sensitivity Hall IC, a common mode suppression circuit, and a buffered output transistor. This makes the PDRV5013ADQLPG Magnetic Switch particularly suitable for determining the presence of permanent, or semi-permanent magnets, which can be found in motors, relays and other equipment. It can also be used for non-contact switch functions in various industrial, automotive and consumer electronics applications. The working principle for the PDRV5013ADQLPG Magnetic Switch is as follows: the magnetic field coming from the magnet creates a flux, which, when detected by the Hall IC, is then amplified and buffered. The buffered output is delivered to a voltage-limited output transistor, which acts as the switch. The output transistor operates by providing either a low or high voltage level, or an open circuit, whichever is the latest when the output is energized. The PDRV5013ADQLPG requires no external power and can operate in a wide temperature range.The PDRV5013ADQLPG Magnetic Sensor Switch has been designed to provide optimal performance over a broad variety of applications and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to +85°C. Its magnetic range is 0.2 to ≥ 2 teslas with an operation distance (or voltage gap) of 0.8 V and a maximum operating current of 30 mA. The switch offers strongly secured contacts and a long lifetime of millions of cycles. Furthermore, the PDRV5013ADQLPG is protected against shorts and miswiring as well as ESD, EMI/RFI, and supply shock. The PDRV5013ADQLPG Magnetic Sensor Switch has a variety of applications in home appliances, automotive, industrial and consumer electronics, such as presence detection, position sensing, and contactless switching. Its robust design and shock-proof construction make it ideal for applications in the automotive industry.
