The PI3740-00-EVAL1 evaluation board is designed to evaluate the performance of the PI3740-00, a two-stage, 100 kHz, single-channel, isolated DC/DC controller IC from Power Integrations. The board is suitable for a wide range of applications in the field of DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).

The PI3740-00 is a high-performance current-mode control IC with an integrated power MOSFET for single-channel flyback applications. It incorporates an adjustable gate driver and is suitable for both continuous current mode (CCM) and discontinuous current mode (DCM) operation, allowing for smooth transitions between the two modes. The PI3740-00 also features an adaptive voltage positioning (AVP) loop for improved light load efficiency and an adjustable transition frequency for power-saving control of switched output power.
