Working PrincipleThe PI6C22405LIEX is designed for use with a low-power crystal oscillator, such as the Piezo Crystal Oscillator, to provide a high-quality clock input signal. The oscillator signal is then used to drive the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), which is controlled by a fully integrated phase-locked loop (PLL). The VCO output is conditioned to provide a low-skew, LVECL signal. The VCO is then tuned to the desired frequency to generate a clock signal with a low, predictable jitter.The PI6C22405LIEX features a wide range of frequency selection options, including frequency and phase modulation, spread spectrum, and a variety of clock outputs. The frequency range can be adjusted in 1 MHz steps by programming the phase-locked loop (PLL) with the appropriate PLL settings, or it can be adjusted to any frequency within the PLL\'s range.
