PIC12C672T-10I/SM is an 8-bit fully static CMOS microcontroller based on Microchip Technology Inc.’s PIC12C672T-10I/SM architecture. It features a powerful and efficient CPU, various peripherals, and integrated analog and digital functions.ApplicationThe PIC12C672T-10I/SM microcontroller is widely used in a variety of embedded control applications, including automotive, industrial and consumer goods. It can be used to control small and medium motors, as well as high power applications such as solenoids, stepper motors and resonance motors. The microcontroller is capable of measuring temperature, pressure, flow rate and voltage signals, which makes it suitable for use in physical and chemical process control systems, such as air-conditioner systems, and oil-processing systems. The device also has a variety of LCD display driver functions and can be used for user interface for digital displays.Working PrincipleThe PIC12C672T-10I/SM microcontroller consists of a CPU core, three timers, an A/D converter, WDT timer, I/ 01C ports, Serial Communication Interface (SCI) and a variety of analog inputs. The CPU core is a 8-bit, 12C672T-10I/SM instruction set, which can execute instructions up to 10MHz clock frequency. The A/D converter is used to measure analog input signals. The WDT timer is used to detect power failure and reset the microcontroller. The I/O ports can be used to provide control signals and I/O data to external devices. The SCI can enable communication with external peripherals via RS232, UART or SPI. The PIC12C672T-10I/SM microcontroller executes instructions in two pipeline stages. In the first stage, the instruction is fetched from the program memory and decoded. In the second stage, the instruction is executed and data is read from the data memory. Once an instruction is executed, it is then automatically stored in the instruction register. The instruction register then contains the instruction to be executed next.The microcontroller has a variety of interrupt sources.
