It is based on a Power Architecture® core, which is combined with a peripheral set that includes an 8-bit timer, an 8-level deep stack and an 8-channel, 10-bit ADC (analog-to-digital converter).The 8-bit timer module contains three 8-bit timer/counter registers, including a Programmable-Width Prescaler and two 8-bit Compare/Capture Registers. This module can be used to generate programmable timing and/or counting functions and is also suitable for implementing pulse-width modulation (PWM) applications. The 8-level deep stack allows nested interrupts and provides a variety of interrupt vector options. The 10-bit ADC provides an 8-channel sample & hold module with an output resolution of up to 10 bits. It also provides an Auto Sequencer Mode, enabling the user to program a conversion sequence that can range from one to eight conversions per conversion cycle.The PIC12LCE518T-04/SM also includes a Capture/Compare/PWM module, also known as CCP. This is a hardware-based peripheral module used to perform a wide range of functions such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), generating signals (such as square waves), capturing external events, timing, and interrupts. The PIC12LCE518T-04/SM chip also features self-programming and In-System Programming (ISP) features, enabling firmware updates.
