PIC16F1454-E/SL MCUs are based on the RISC architecture where instructions are executed from a single 32 instruction length word. The CPU efficiently handles data and program memory demands with the following memory modules: program memory, data memory, register file, and stack buffer. The data memory is comprised of two types: static RAM (SRAM) and EEPROM. The EEPROM memory is used to store user settings and is not cleared after a device reset. The SRAM memory is initially cleared after a reset and can be used for data and variable storage.The program memory is used to store the user program or program code, and it operates in either one-word or two-word addressing. This means that one word of program memory can store two bytes of program code, which allows for faster execution of program code. The 10-bit PWM module provides a selection of frequency and resolution, depending on the application. It supports pulse mode and compare mode, and includes a four-bit prescaler.The PIC16F1454-E/SL MCU features a programmable switch matrix which provides quick and easy connections to up to 16 internal resources. This provides a low-cost, efficient solution to reduce static power consumption when using multiplexers, which would increase board space significantly. The PIC16F1454-E/SL also includes multiple analog comparators which are used to monitor analog signals and provide status information. Two- and four-word selectable hysteresis is available for analog comparator inputs for noise immunity. A low-power-down mode is supported which allows for faster wake-up from sleep mode.
