It also has a built-in watch dog timer for improved system reliability.The MCU also has a built-in driver for two or four UARTs which can be used to support 4 independent full duplex serial ports with baud rates from 0 to 4 Mbps. The UARTs can be configured as either a standard UART or a Smart UART. The Smart UART protocol supports error detection, framing/parity error detection, frame length and CRC check.The PIC16LF18855-I/SP also features an enhanced I2C block which supports both master and slave operation. It is ideal for use in an I2C system with multiple masters and slaves.The MCU features a multi channel DMA controller which can be used to transfer data between its own internal peripherals and external memory with minimal processor intervention. The controller supports up to 8 channels and up to 64 bytes of data can be transferred in each channel.
