Working Principle

The PIC24FJ32MC101-I/SS is a 16-bit microcontroller powered by the PIC24FJ20 Memory architecture. It has 512 KB Flash program memory with self-programming capabilities. The Flash memory is organized into two 8-Kbyte segments for code memory and four 128-Kbyte segments for application data memory. A 32Kbyte SRAM is available for RAM data storage. An internal programmable RC oscillator (FRC) is also available with a frequency range from 8 MHz to 48 MHz.

A Programmable Low Voltage Detection (PLVD) module is incorporated to detect the supply voltage and reset the system when it goes below the programmed threshold. A Direct Memory Access (DMA) controller allows for the transfer of data without intervention from the CPU.

The PIC24FJ32MC101-I/SS also features a 32-bit microcontroller extension (MCHP-EXT) which allows the user to access up to twenty-four additional signal pins.
