PIC32-MAXI-WEB is a family of embedded systems design platforms that are specifically designed to provide optimized solutions for embedded and interactive web-based applications. The MAXI-WEB evaluation board has been developed to serve as a general-purpose testing and demonstration platform and to offer highly reliable and cost-effective performance. This evaluation board can be used to evaluate, develop and prototype applications in a variety of domains.
It packs a powerful 32-bit MIPS processor and supports multiple operating systems, including MPLAB, Netbeans, LINUX, Dclinux and VisualStudio. This evaluation board is based on the open-source hardware and software concepts and designed with an extensive set of built-in peripherals. It features onboard Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and SPI interfaces as standard features and also can be further extended with daughter-boards or other expansion boards. It also provides a powerful integrated debugger and real-time trace technology.
The MAXI-WEB evaluation board comes with an ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller core as the main processor. This processor core manages the operation of the numerous on-board peripherals, as well as an on-board Ethernet interface and external-facing USB host port. The board also features a powerful 8-bit External Serial Memory, an on-board USB 2.0 High Speed controller for the USB and SPI-user interface connections, an on-board PWM Timer for measurement and control and a range of low-power consumption features that contribute to its energy efficiency.
The MAXI-WEB evaluation board is further complemented by a suite of data telemetry, touch-screen and user interface tools that allow users to quickly and easily create scalable, well-crafted, intuitive web-based applications. For example, the Data-Telemetry package provides a secure way to transfer real-time data streams using an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. It also allows users to collect and store vast amounts of historical data from various types of input sources, from sensors to cellular phone networks.
The MAXI-WEB evaluation board also offers a range of user-interface tools. This includes a wide range of graphical user-interface tools that are designed to provide users with intuitive and highly interactive web applications. Additionally, the board can also accept touch-screen input devices for use with the embedded web tools. Furthermore, it includes an on-board LCD display, enabling users to create portable touchscreen-based applications with the board.
Integrated into the MAXI-WEB evaluation board is a series of software development tools that are designed to facilitate the creation of web-based applications on the board quickly and easily.
