Working principle

The PKS604YN is an unlocked synchronous offline switcher that uses a high-frequency switching waveform to generate a low frequency, high-current waveform. It uses an internal current source to feed the integrated error amplifier in order to achieve output regulation. The output current is measured while the output voltage is regulated by a voltage loop. The device uses synchronous rectifier to achieve up to 95% efficiency.

The PFC control is realized by a double loop control. The outer loop controls the input power factor and the inner loop controls the output current. Finally, it adopts a thermal shutdown protection for over-temperature protection.
