Fixed inductors refer to passive components with inductance as the main performance index. The inductance is obtained by winding a coil on a body around a core. The core is generally made of soft magnetic material. The coil can be wound with copper wire or iron wire. Depending on the application, the core may contain iron, cobalt, a mixture of iron and cobalt, or ferrite. Coil parameters may include number of turns, winding method, wire gauge, number of legs, etc.PL8916 is one type of fixed inductors. In terms of application field, PL8916 is mainly used for power supply, communication system, automatic control system, medical equipment, military equipment and various consumer products.In terms of working principle, a fixed inductor consists of two parts: a magnetic core and a coil. The magnetic core is made of ferromagnetic material and functions as the skeleton of the inductor. The low permeability of the ferromagnetic material ensures that the inductance of the device does not change significantly with the change of DC current. The coil is formed by winding a certain number of turns of copper wire (or iron wire) on the core.The principle of the inductor can be understood from the perspective of electromagnetic induction. When a current passes through the coil, it will produce a magnetic field that encircles around the coil. This magnetic field will interact with the magnetic field of the core, resulting in an induced electromotive force in the coil. This electromotive force opposes the original current and reduces the original current in the coil. That is, the coil of the inductor dissipates energy. This is the working principle of the inductor, which is also known as self-induction.From the above, we can conclude that PL8916 fixed inductors are mainly used in power supplies, communication systems, automatic control systems, medical equipment, military equipment and various consumer electronics products, and use self-induction to consume energy and generate a magnetic field.
