PM5308-FGI is an interface device mainly used in telecommunications field. It is a short-range digital optical transmission terminal equipment developed by Huawei. In other words, this device is an important part of a typical optical access network. The application field of this device includes telecommunication network and construction, public transportation, energy, enterprises and operators.

Generally, the PM5308-FGI is used to convert optical signals into electrical signals and output them to end equipment. It works as an on-off device. When a signal is received, the PM5308-FGI will automatically switch on and will convert the optical signal into electrical signal; while when the signal ends, the device will automatically switch off.

In detail, this device mainly consists of an optical receiving module and an electric transmission module which are connected with each other by an electrical circuit. The optical receiving module is constituted by a receiving optical fiber, a photoreceiver chip and a photoelectric conversion circuit. The receiving optical fiber captures the incoming optical signals and transfer it to the photoreceiver chip. The photoreceiver chip converts the optical signal into an electrical signal and sends it to the photoelectric conversion circuit. The photoelectric conversion circuit then completes the transformation of the optical signal into an electrical signal.

The electric transmission module mainly consists of a transmitting optical fiber, a laser driver and a modulator. The transmitting optical fiber is used to transmit the electrical signals from the photoelectric conversion circuit to the laser driver. The laser driver further boosts the electrical signal and sends it to the modulator. The modulator then converts the electrical signal into an optical signal and output it via the transmitting optical fiber.

Both the optical receiving module and the electric transmission module are connected through an electrical circuit. The electrical circuit is mainly used to detect the incoming optical signals and control the photoelectric conversion circuit. After detecting the incoming optical signals, the electrical circuit will control the photoelectric conversion circuit to generate an output electrical signal. The electrical circuit can also control the laser driver and modulator to generate an output optical signal for transmission.

PM5308-FGI provides the the capability to convert optical signals into electrical signals. This device is widely used in telecommunication network and construction, public transportation, energy, enterprises and operators. It can efficiently transmit optical signals while saving a lot of time and costs.
