Working Principle

The PQ07VZ5M2ZZH employs a current activation technique to reduce the dropout voltage. This progressive current boost feature is implemented by a combination of two voltage sources (V1 and V2). When the input voltage is about 200 mV to 500 mV lower than the set output voltage, V1 is activated to start boosting the current. When the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, V2 is activated to further increase the current. This method yields a very low dropout voltage and hence a very high PSRR.

Furthermore, the PQ07VZ5M2ZZH is provided with an over-current protection circuit. As the current flowing through the output node increases, the voltage across the internal current sensing resistor rises, turning on the PMOS transistor and reducing the output current.
