The PQ12RD11 is linear voltage regulator integrated circuit (IC) used to convert a higher input voltage to a lower, regulated output voltage. It is a bi-directional device, meaning that it can be used to either increase or reduce the voltage. Working Principle

As the power MOSFET switch is turned on, current is supplied to the output voltage. This process continues continuously to maintain the output voltage.

In addition to step-down DC-DC conversion, the PQ12RD11 can also be used to step-up DC-DC conversion. In this configuration, the output voltage is higher than the input voltage and the power MOSFET switch is used to lower the voltage. The voltage is then converted to a higher voltage by the inductor. This process is used in applications such as battery charging, where a low voltage battery is charged to a higher voltage.
