PRO6FQS are non-contact level sensors which can detect any interface between two different media within a process, whether it be between a liquid and solid, a gas and a liquid, or a liquid and the bottom of a container. PRO6FQS employ a very specific technology for measuring level because it does not require any physical contact between the sample and the sensor tip. Instead, this device does its detecting through a process known as “Frequency Shift Contactless Capacitance.”

Frequency shift contactless capacitance employs a two-step process. First, the device sends out an oscillating signal. This signal’s frequency is dependent on how much capacitance the circuit has. As the signal travels across the liquid, the frequency is altered depending on the dielectric of the liquid, as well as its level. Then, as the signal is received back from the other side, its frequency is measured to determine the level of the liquid or solid interface.

PRO6FQS applications include monitoring of waste water levels, open channel flow, liquid level tank gauging, pump-in/out switches, lift stations, and chemical storage.
