PROTEXT technology is an advanced RF transceiver technology that is used for radio communications with remote areas. This technology is the foundation for many applications including the next generation of wireless handsets, radio navigation systems, and satellite communications systems. PROTEXT technology can provide reliable, low power and low cost communications between multiple remote areas. It is suitable for a variety of applications that require a short transmission time, high accuracy, as well as the capability to operate in remote areas.
In terms of the RF receiver, transmitter, and transceiver finished units, PROTEXT technology is an important addition to the range of transceiver solutions available for mission critical and difficult-to-reach applications. Compared to traditional radio communication solutions such as public switched telephone networks (PSTN), PROTEXT transceivers offer much greater power efficiency, higher data rate transmission, improved noise reduction as well as better signal integrity. As a result, it is a perfect fit for mission-critical applications, such as military, search-and-rescue, security, and maintenance.
PROTEXT transceivers work by tightly modulating digital signals from a transmitter on a specific frequency for reliable reception at remote locations. The transceivers first receive data from the transmitter in the form of microwave signals that are sent serially. These signals are then encoded and passed through a digital signal processing system. The signals pass through two filter stages, one which filters out signals which are not part of the communication signals and the other which filters out unwanted noise. Once the signal has been prepared, it is ready for transmission.
The transceiver then encodes and transmits the signal, where it is received at the remote location. The receiver then passes the signal through another filter to filter out unwanted noise again. When the signal reaches the receiver, it is then decoded, and all the original data from the sending point can then be reassembled.
Transceiver systems tend to be more expensive than traditional radio communications solutions such as the PSTN, due to the large amount of hardware and software required for the working of the transceiver. However, this cost is certainly offset by the added features and capabilities of the PROTEXT system. With the added data rate, noise reduction, and increased power efficiency, PROTEXT transceivers can greatly reduce the cost of communications between multiple remote areas.
PROTEXT technology is becoming increasingly popular as a choice for mission-critical and difficult to reach applications, thanks to its superior features and capabilities when compared to traditional radio communications solutions. Thanks to its superior noise reduction, increased power efficiency, and high data rate transmission capabilities, PROTEXT transceivers offer the perfect solution for mission-critical applications. Additionally, due to its cost effective nature, it is becoming increasingly popular in many applications, such as military, search-and-rescue, security, and maintenance.
