The optoisolators PS2525-1-A is a 4pin DIP (through hole) package with a 4.7 mA LED in a thin-profile 3mm height package - on the inside is a phototransistor detector with a gain of 100. The lens material is a clear epoxy that matches the LED light emission angle. This optoisolator is compatible with 24 volts DC industrial control applications and can withstand a reverse voltage of up to 30 volts DC.
The functioning of the PS2525-1-A is quite simple. When the LED is activated, the emitted light is detected by the phototransistor, creating a current flow at the output connecting the collector in the circuit.. This current triggers the connected circuit and can be used for actuating various processes in the industrial control application.
The PS2525-1-A has several other advantages, such as its fast switching time - on the order of tens of nanoseconds. The isolation resistance of optoisolator is also quite high, at up to 2.8 KV. Additionally, this optoisolator can be used in most application environments, holding up to 85°C at a relative humidity of 65%, and is available in both single channel and dual channel configurations.
As one of the few available optoisolators with a transistor, photovoltaic output, the PS2525-1-A is particularly well-suited for industrial control applications, providing reliable isolation and switching capability, and is especially useful in situations where a signal is needed to actuate a process.
