Optoisolators - Logic Output are widely used in circuits due to their ability to provide accurate optically-isolated digital communication between devices. PS9821-2-V-AX is a two-channel logic output opto-coupler designed for applications where a 30mA load is required. Despite its small size, this device has excellent performance and wide range of operating voltage.
The PS9821-2-V-AX is a dual phototransistor output device that has two optically isolated channels that independently control a 30 mA load. The opto-coupler includes a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode and a high speed phototransistor which are separated by a plastic isolation barrier and packaged in a small, 3-pin package. The input is connected to the LED which is optically coupled to the output phototransistor. The two channels are independently controlled, allowing for separate and independent on and off times. The input is interfaced with the LED, and when a digital logic signal switches its output, the LED turns on or off.
The main advantage of PS9821-2-V-AX is its ability to provide very reliable optical isolation with a wide range of input voltage between 3.6V to 24V. In addition, it features excellent common mode transient immunity (CMRR) of more than 100dB at a frequency of 1kHz and a minimum isolation voltage of 3000Vrms. Moreover, the device has an operational temperature range of -20°C to 85°C and a high current transfer ratio of 0.75A max.
The PS9821-2-V-AX also features a low input current of 1mA and a low output saturation voltage of 0.2V, making it ideal for logic output applications. The opto-coupler also has high noise immunity and is rated to a high ESD protection of 3kV for pins 1-2 and 4-5.
The PS9821-2-V-AX is suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial control, home automation, medical instrumentation, and communication systems.
