AC/DC converters are devices used usually to convert an alternating current (AC) from a source into a direct current (DC) of a certain voltage level. The PSA065-240M is a high-efficiency AC/DC power supply, with its maximum full load efficiency up to 86%. The PSA065-240N is designed with Class II Direct Output, allowing it to reduce the need for a separate earth connection. In terms of its working principle, the PSA065-240M utilizes a high-frequency PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) conversion process that converts the AC input to a DC output with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. The process is composed of an input rectification-filtering, DC switching bridge, PWM control, zero current switching, snubber network and output inductor-filtering stages.

The first High Frequency PWM stage converts the AC mains input voltage to DC, which is then rectified and stabilized, and filtered by an inductor. This DC voltage is then synchronously rectified and switched through the H bridge using four switching MOSFETs, in order to convert the input voltage to a high frequency output voltage. Finally, the output voltage is rectified and filtered to achieve the desired DC output voltage.
