EMI/RFI Filters (LC, RC Networks)
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) are well known phenomena that can cause unwanted noise or signal interference in a wide range of electronic equipment. To help counteract the effects of such interference, EMI/RFI filters have been used for many years. These devices are constructed of either inductor-capacitor (LC) or resistor-capacitor (RC) networks, which are designed to reduce the transmission of unwanted signals through the respective interference-causing mechanisms. The PSM1-152M-05B is a particular type of EMI/RFI filter which is commonly used in industrial, medical, and aerospace applications. It is designed to keep unwanted EMI or RFI signals from reaching sensitive electronic components. The PSM1-152M-05B is constructed out of two main components: an inductor and a capacitor. This combination of elements creates a low-pass network filter that operates in both the EMI and RFI frequency bands. The PSM1-152M-05B features a unique combination of an inductor and capacitor, allowing it to operate in both the EMI and RFI frequency bands. This dual-mode operation is achieved through the use of a proprietary core material, which allows the filter to have a wide range of operating frequencies and relatively good temperature cycling characteristics. The filter has a maximum operating temperature of 155°C and can operate over a frequency range of from 500kHz to 1.5GHz. In addition to providing high-quality filtering of unwanted signals, the PSM1-152M-05B also features a compact design which allows for easy integration into a variety of applications.
